Basic USS Course

Overview

This course runs regularly and is designed to introduce trainees to obstetric scanning.  The course covers basic physics, RCOG requirements and guidelines for obstetrics scanning and has direct hands on training.

Areas covered

During the course you will learn about:

• Placental localisation, liquor volume & cervical assessment
• Routine measurements and how to achieve them
• Screening for Down’s Syndrome
• The anomaly scan and common major anomalies
• Role of ultrasound in the management for the SGA/IUGR baby
